I upgraded the makzan.net into a forum software. This forum software is called Flarum. I learned this from Billy Wilcosky’s website.
A blog is more single direction from the author to the readers. And writing a post is too formal sometimes. Especially in this short-attention short-posts era. That also explains why I’ve been posting on my micro blog since Tumblr era. My micro blog had been migrated several times since then and It is now hosting on micro.blog.
I had found barrier to keep posting on my main blog. So now I’m exploring to use a forum software to host my website, hoping on these changes:
- Write more often, by shifting my mindset from posting an article to posting an update on the internet.
- Build a community that fellows, my friends and my students can join together.
- Allow an ask-me-anything, a.k.a. AMA, channel for Q&A and potential coaching.
- Allow private sub-forum to build coaching discussion board.
In addition, I post to other places occasionally, including matters.news and YouTube, I can then re-post the link here to keep links organized into one place. It is like a hub that connects all my content on the web.
For old makzan.net, I made an archive and also make 301 redirects to known existing paths. Here are the archive links:
